Slings on decorative tiles

During the 17. century, decorative tiles came into fashion in Netherlands. A popular design were the various children's games of that time. Besides games that are still popular today such as throwing balls, skipping and kite flying, often people with slings are depicted, too. The tiles presented in the following originate from the second half of the 17. century and are in the collection of the museum Rotterdam (https://museumrotterdam.nl/).

The search term "keislingeren" (Dutch "kei" for pebble and "slingeren" for slinging) leads to even more pictures in the internet, showing old tiles with slingers on it.
