How to sew a sling bandolier
Sewing a Slingshot Bandolier
The bandolier presented here consists of many individual pouches that are threaded onto a belt and can each hold a single tennis ball.
For each pouch, you will need four rectangular pieces of fabric:
- One main piece (8 × 32 cm)
- Two side pieces (8 × 10 cm)
- One back piece (8 × 8 cm)

First, finish the edges of the fabric pieces with a zigzag stitch on a sewing machine.

Next, fold the edges of the main piece and the side pieces, which will later form the edge of the pouch opening, and sew them. Do the same with two opposite edges of the back piece, through which the belt will be threaded. The width of the hem should be about 6 mm.

Then, sew the side pieces, one edge after the other, to the main piece.

The following image shows the side pieces sewn to the main piece.

Now fold the side edges of the pouch flap and sew them down.

Next, fold the unhemmed edges of the back piece inwards and pin them to the back of the pouch. The top edge of the back piece should be flush with the pouch hem.

Now sew the back piece along the edges you just folded inwards with two parallel seams to the back of the pouch.

Fold the last remaining edge of the flap and sew it down.

As a final step, cut two Velcro strips to the width of the flap, and sew them to the pouch. The soft side should be on the inside of the flap. If you were to attach the hook side here, a tennis ball could get caught on it when being removed from the pouch.

The pouch is now finished!

Once you have made several of these pouches, you can thread them onto a belt to create a sling bandolier.
